Art Levin Journalism Scholarship for the First Amendment

Established in honor of Art Levin, by family, former students, colleagues and other friends, with gratitude. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students who are enrolled in the College of Communication as journalism majors and dedicated to the preservation of First Amendment liberties as demonstrated either through coursework, or by work on the editorial staffs of student-run print or electronic publications. The application for the scholarship will include a brief essay on the importance of the First Amendment in a democratic society. Art Levin retired from the Butler faculty in December 2004 after teaching his last class during the fall semester. The scholarship is given in recognition of Mr. Levin’s 30 years of service on Butler’s faculty during which time he also served as Chair of the Journalism department and advisor to The Collegian.
