Jean T. and Robert E. Wildman Scholarship
Established by Robert and Jean Wildman ’44 after realizing the great need for scholarship and being keenly aware of the substantial benefits to the community provided by an educated citizenry. This scholarship provides financial support to students in the Lacy School of Business, who otherwise would have to forgo a college education. Each year this scholarship is awarded based on merit to one male and one female student enrolled in the Lacy School of Business. Both Robert and Jean were active in campus life during their Butler years, and remained life-long advocates for, and supporters of, the University. Robert served Butler in many capacities including involvement on the Alumni Board, the Commission on the Future of Butler, and served 18 years on the Board of Trustees. He received the Butler medal in 1990 and was named Trustee Emeritus in 1994. Jean was awarded an honorary doctorate from Butler in 2015. The Wildmans have supported Butler through their time, talent and treasure, and have contributed most generously to a variety of Butler programs and projects. Robert and Jean were co-recipients of the Butler Mortar Award in 1998.
